Following Visionscape’s statement on August 28, 2018, wherein the organisation denied and clarified allegations regarding their purported non-payment of Community Sanitation Workers’ (CSW) salaries, the Ministry of Environment has accepted responsibility of paying the CSWs.
Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of the Environment, Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye, said there had been some anomalies in their payment system, which caused the delay in salary payment.
Chief Executive Officer, Visionscape Sanitation Solutions, John Irvine, who also spoke on the development, reiterated that his company has no direct affiliation with the CSWs who form another component of the state’s waste management reforms.
According to Irvine: “Visionscape is working closely with the ministry to clear lines of communication so that claims and misconceptions (intended to detract from the hardwork of residential collection and waste management infrastructure delivery) are stifled at source.”
