Member of the PDP South West have been advised to ignore the news that the zonal Congress slated for April 10th had been postponed.
Oyo PDP Chieftain, Dare Adeleke has described the news which was published by a blogger on Wednesday afternoon as fake and the handiwork of detractors.
He told reporter that the Congress will hold and April 10th is Sacrosanct: “The PDP at the national level had a meeting today at WADATA Plaza, Abuja and no decision was taking to postpone the South West Congress.
The blogger who carried the false news must have been empowered to publish such misleading information by those who have been determined to scuttle the Congress.
On the so called lingering court case, I have said it before that the PDP is bigger than any individual and our constitution is above all other interests. How can the national Legal Adviser employ the prosecutor and the defendant on the same case.
By the way, the case was not heard yesterday because court is on strike.
They were angry when his Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde said he would not tolerate any mago mago judgement. That sent them into confusion because they want to achieve their aim through the back door.” He said.
Adeleke who has never hidden his belief that ex-Governor Ayo Fayose has been behind the polarisation of the party in the zone noted that; “Nobody is stopping them from coming to the Congress and testing their popularity. We are in a democracy and our great party, the PDP, has always been fair and transparent on all levels. They claim to be in the majority, it is more reason why they should participate in the Congress. Why are they trying to stop it by all means, even to the extent of brandishing falsehood? What are they afraid of?”
The Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company boss called on all PDP members to disregard the news, it is Fake News, the Congress will hold in Ibadan on April 10, 2021,” he says.
