PDP sets up committee to screen aspirants for South West executive position

The national working Commitee of the Peoples Democratic Party has named 5 man Screening Committee to access all aspirants for the southwest Zonal Executive Committee Positions.

The Screening committee which has Senator Dino Melaye as the Chairman Also has Egede Ogo Isreal as Secretary, Senator Shetimma Danjuma Laah, member, Hon Ekeleme Chima Ikieje, Member and Emilia Ezeude, member.

The Screening is expected to hold on Saturday 10th April, ahead of the congress on Monday.

The Zonal Congress which is expected to hold in Osogbo the Osun state capital on Monday 12th of April was earlier scheduled for 10th of April in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The rift between Oyo staye Governor, Seyi Makinde and the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose is believed to be the reason behind the rescheduling of the congress.

The incumbent chairman, Eddy Olafeso believed to be candidate of Ayodele Fayose is contesting with the anointed candidate of Governor Seyi Makinde, Taofeeq Arapaja.

The South West Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party has been enmeshed in crisis with several court cases.

But the Saraki led reconciliation committee in Collaboration with the National working committee of the party is however making effort to reconcile the aggrieved parties.
