Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Ondo State chapter may not be deterred by the Supreme Court verdict that didn’t not grant the request of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, its candidate in the October 10, 2020 governorship election as a support group in the party was inaugurated in Akure, the state capital.

Addressing members of the group at the inauguration ceremony, on Tuesday evening, Jegede declared the verdict of the Apex court would not silence or end PDP in the state.

He noted that rather than being depressed or discouraged by the verdict, the party’s being gingered to strategize and work harder in preparation for subsequent electrical exercises in the state.

Urging members of the group to go to their individual wards to begin spade work for future elections in the state, Jegede said the party had a brighter future.

Jegede said: “After the Supreme Court judgement, some said it is over for us in the PDP but that is a lie , we didn’t allow that judgement to depress us we are waxing stronger.

“We still have a lot of work to do, we still have senatorial election, House of Representatives election, House of Assembly election ahead of us in 2023. That is why we must be focused and work harder for these election. Opomulero Group is the number one PDP support group. This is not for Jegede alone , it is for all of us and together we shall succeed.”

The Director General of the group, Mr Olasupo Olakunori stated that all members of the group, which include PDP chieftains from all states in Southwest, were poised to work harder with a view to returning PDP to power in the Southwest states in all future elections.

He said: “We are ready and the work has begun to ensure that out great party the PDP , takes back it’s position in the Southwest.”
